Hearbroken: This is Peaches, a dog we adopted 3 weeks ago. Her owner had a brain tumor and decided she couldn't take care of the dog anymore. Her main worry was for Peaches---she was her pride and joy. We picked her up from the woman's brother, who had been taking care of the dog for the past week. She was placed in Hospice care and passed away, just hours after we picked up Peaches from her brother. She was aware and relieved that Peaches had a place to live. She passed away literally hours after we picked up her dog.
Peaches, by the way, is a joy to have. The kids love her and she adores them. She is doing wonderfully!
TPBM is an animal with a joyful look on its face.

I don't normally post pictures of the children I teach... but I know both sets of parents... This little boy and little girl were inseperable.... She moved... hours away from us. The little boy's mom picked him up early so I let him wake the little girl up to say good bye... Technically probably a horrid shot... but the heart... man you couldn't help but cry that day....

It was a great camera to learn with, what a lot of people don't realise is that not only did this not have an internal meter but the iris had to be set before you took the picture, so you would have to meter, set the shutter speed then manually reduce the aperture, effectively blacking out the viewfinder as you did and then take the picture. Its no wonder I shot landscapes :-)

Reminds me of a friend and his dad when I was a kid. His dad was in the front yard skinning and cleaning squirrels, I mean a ton of them, too. While his mom was in the kitchen, boiling a pot of water to make stew. My friend offered the opportunity for me to stay for dinner.
I politely declined, and went home feeling a bit queezy.

The image I'm posting I've posted before. It's one of my favorites!! It was taken Dec.24th, 2007 in BayHead, NJ. We had a low pressure system go off to the south of us generating a large south swell.
As the day went on the surf got better but I was running out of light. I was fighting with myself, one minute I was leaving after the next shot and the next moment I'm saying I'm not leaving until theres no light left.
Finally I decided to leave when I looked over and saw local pro surfers Tom Pretriken (black wetsuit) and Sam Hammer (red wetsuit) looking down the beach at a very large wave exploding on the sandbar about 200 yards away. I quickly turned on the camera and rapped off a few shots and this was the best out of all of them. Since I was hand holding the camera I had a bit of shake making the other shots blurry.
The best part about this image is that I submitted it for auction to help out a local surf legend named Dean Randazzo. He's currently battleing cancer for the fourth time and is in California receiving treatments as I write this. I donated all the money brought in from the auction for the image which was $185. I was happy with it and it went to a great cause.
