We were doing maternity shots, and while waiting for Mom to change her clothes, this little guy walked into the spotlight. He picked up the stuffed animal we were using as a prop, I called his name, and when he looked at me I shot. It was totally not set up, but I love the shot.

It's rebar (reinforcing bar for concrete) being made. One of the most amazing things I've seen in my travels, in a brute force, screw the planet kinda way. The raw energy used to melt the scrap metal was just awe-inspiring, imagine controlling bolts of lightning and you have an idea.

Sat in a control room 500m from the arc rods, the blast shutters came down over the windows, ear defenders were on and BOOOM, the who room shook and rocked for at least 3 minutes. It was like being inside the death star. Somewhat humbled to come out of the control room to see the workers wearing a leather apron, goggles and ear defenders had been right next to the whole thing.

Actually, it was your further description that made me think of this photo. I took that in May, 2004. I was accused by many people of Photoshopping it because the price was so high. Two years later I took another shot of the price at the same gas station where it read $3.99 for regular. Again, I was accused of Photoshopping it... :lol:
