Thanks Pete & Flo! I went over to the coast to get a shot of Snowy Owl that had been reported on the jetty. I didn't find the owl, but did notice that the Coast Guard was starting to conduct surf drills. The surf was crazy-huge. There were 2 boats out there. I got several shots from that day, but this one is my favorite (it took Best of Show at our County Fair this year).

Just about binned on ground that the whole shoot was a tragic failure. We didn't get him fed well enough before plopping him on the blanket, so he had an absolute fit. But after carefully reviewing the pictures, the sheer emotion conveyed saved this one from the bin.

Philomathy - The love of learning or letters

Probably not exactly what you had in mind, but he sure does seem to love the letter his great grandma sent to him:

You earned money for TPBM

I seldom post any commercial stuf on POTN (I don't usually put it on my open web site either), but I didn't expect to make money from this one.... and then I did :-)

TPBM is one that you think may have some commercial value, if only you could work out how to sell it

I've had several of those, too. It's surprising what people will pay for sometimes. A large publishing company once gave me $450 to license three snapshots that anyone could have taken (and thousands of other people have) of headstones for three famous people. I couldn't believe which photos they were asking for when they first emailed me, was a bit more surprised when they immediately accepted my quote without bartering, and was REALLY surprised to find out who it was when I accidentally discovered the book at a local Barnes & Noble a year later... (I should have quoted a higher price.)

I really need to get working on the fine art section of my web site. I have a few I'm sure I could sell as prints or licenses if I'd just get them out there. I haven't sold this one yet, but it's been one I get the most compliments on.

TPBM is a photo you would never even consider selling or licensing, no matter how much money was offered.
