Greetings, just joined this evening and previous to joining spent a couple of hours surfing the site. I happened here researching a Tamron 100-300mm lens that I acquired at a pretty reasonable price.
Haven't tried it yet. I'm hoping it will turn out some sharp pictures up to the 200mm range, and acceptable up to the 300 mark. I'm a retired amateur recreational photographer, with no professional aspirations.
Here is a recent shot of a park in Marmora Ontario, Canada. I use a Canon Rebel 350D (XT). The lens used for this shot was an ancient Ultrasonic Canon 35-135mm. Three bracketed exposures were processed as an HDR image using Paiintshop X2.
Any suggestion would be welcomed.

Gordon, I like the mood with the mist. What are the two objects in the water?

Probably "deadheads." :) Marmora was an iron mining town. They may be some manner of pilings, related to a processing plant that was adjacent to this location.
Thanks for commenting.

i wish there was something that created a little more interest. the framing of the shot works well with the trees and all, but then it leaves my eye wandering around in the middle of the picture.

Yes, understood. It was my first attempt at HDR processing. It really was a beautiful spot to visit . . . almost a dreamscape. Do not know what would work, other than Nessie! Remember seeing a photo on one of the sites, a desert shot, with a camel dead centre in the lower quarter of the image. He said, had the camel not wandered into the shot, it would never have worked.

When I first looked, I saw the whole thing. That to me was the main interest, only later did I notice the objects in the middle.

I like your image, but find the tree leaves soft. The birds/moorings in the middle don't bother me at all. I look forward to your future posts

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I agree, parts of the image are soft. I think caused by not having a tripod along on this trip, just steadied the camera on a bridge railing. Movement probably caused some of the softness, which was compounded when the three images were combined to produce the HDR.

Michael, here is another of the same location & time. I'm interested in improving the clarity. How to deal with low light, misty situations. These shots were with a Rebel XL (350d) using a Canon usm 35-135mm lens, Tv: 1/15; Av: 9.0; ISO: 400.
Thanks for your interest. -Gordon
