Hi,
Ive been out tonight taken pics.
Ive downloaded 98 pics from one memory card no problem.
I then went to download the pics from my second memory card but when i turn my camera on and the zoombrowser starts working it come up with a window saying files cannot be found in camera or camera folder!
I have about 300 shots that i cant download for some reason.
I have had this message before but simply restarted my pc and it has worked.
Ive restarted,shut down my pc.
Removed the card and put it back in sevral times.
Blown in to the camera+on the card.
Put the firstr card back in and it found all the pics again.
Ive removed the digital wire and pulged that back in again, wiggled it too but to no avail!!!
Also took a couple of shots extra in my room to see if that would help it to work.
Any ideas what to do now?
I dont have a cardreader.

Get a card-reader, a file recovery utility, a felt-tip pen, and another card.
Use the felt-tip pen to mark the card. That way if it happens again, you'll know if it was the same card.
Use the card-reader and file recovery utility to check over the card for lost files. I've found one card where the files are written, but the directory entries don't make it onto the card. I use File Rescue Plus from Software Shelf. I'm sure there are better utilities out there, but I can't be bothered to look for them. I can live with this.
The other card? Insurance!

yeah i'd go card reader it's a bit easier
you also may want to make sure the connection/plug is tight cause if it says it can't find a camera then it might just be that

I think that you are going to have to get yourself a card reader. You can get a read for about $15 - $20 at Circuit City.
I think that you need the reader to be able to access the card directly and see if the files are retreivable at all. But it definately sounds like a case of a faulty card.
Oh and don't blow on the card or the card slot. I know we all do it from time to time but the moisture in your breathe could condensate on the terminal and cause problems.

Thanks Jon.
Ive found my way on to the file veiwer utility and am downloading my pics that way now.
Its abit long winded compaired to the other way but at least i can get my pics onto my pc.
I will mark the card and take afew shots with it tommorow, if the same problem happens again i will put it to one side (near the bin) and get a new card.
Id rather spend out on a card than loose a nights work.
Thanks for the fast reply.

I purchased a very simple USB 1.0 card reader a long time ago for the princely sum of $5.
Solutions as cheap as that should not be ignored.

But you'd be better off getting an USB 2.0 card reader which is just slightly more expensive (maybe $20), but MUCH faster (if your computer also supports USB 2.0).

If you insert another CF card to download the pictures the Canon SW is a little bit too intelligent for this job. With the same recording date the SW thinks you've already downloaded the files to you PC. It's better than overwriting existing pictures.
So just start the ZoomBrowserEX and select Camera&Card (don't know the right name because I have the german version). Then select all pictures on the shown content of the CF-card and click on download.
Be sure to rename the previous downloaded folder before...
