Shot a few IR with the old G1 today. Hot as hell, but fun.

Gelnhausen, Germany. Nice little town just outside Hanau, near Frankfurt.

I have figured out how to minimize the blooming effect by editing in Photoshop. I am currently working on an article on the workflow and will be merging it into my IR workflow article as well.
Short story, create a 18% grey filled, feathered oval selection around the blown out center and change the transparency until it appears to match the rest. The article will have a much better explanation with examples. Just wanted to give a teaser...

Nice work on the blooming -- I don't have it on the G1, since it doesn't have the "cut" filter that the G3 does, but on the G3 it's bad for me.

#2, #3 are great. I like the framing of the shot. IR is so much fun.

I like these images very much. However I notice some odd artifacts in the sky at the top left of image #2, which are not as noticable in #3. I presume it's to do with the method you use to desaturate the color information. The monochrome image also looks much noisier than the color one.
Cheers,

Good photos! I love the IR photos with G1. Now my 300D cannot do that.
