I was hoping to get some photos of the baby raccoons that have been on my deck at night. We heard them and I grabbed my camera & put on my 70-200 2.8L with 1.4x & 550 EX, rushed to the bedroom window but they had left.
I left the camera by the window for their next visit. A couple of nights later, we heard them again, so I rushed upstairs to the bedroom turned on my flash, turned on my camera (I did not turn on the bedroom light)
aimed, pressed the focus button, (I use custom function 4-1) and then pressed the shutter release.
Nothing but a click. Pressed the shutter release again, nothing. Two seconds later the camera fires
Moral of this story: RESET YOUR CAMERA TO YOUR DEFAULT SETTINGS WHEN YOU PUT IT AWAY.
last time I used the camera I was shooting flowers on a tripod and had the drive mode set to 2 second delay and custom function 12 on (mirror lock)
Long story for a simple message.
I'll get those little coons & post them if they're decent.
