Nice looking bird Greg, good shot, but pity you couldn't get the entire bird in the frame :( I know you can't always do it, sometimes the bird just doesn't co-operate and come out into the open. Was this with the 40D? And where was it taken?

These were with the 40D and were taken on a family trip to Aust. Zoo on Sunday. Every time I moved so did the bird - to a totally different tree.

Greg, this is a wonderful image with such great colours and clarity. I'd consider cropping out the obscured part of the bird altogether.
I actually think the bokeh in this shot is as creamy smooth as the bird is sharp. If this is the 100-400, I wasn't aware that it produced such great blur.
Really well done.
