Will you let me know what you think of this?

Thanks.

Is this a concept (or execution) for a backdrop?

sswanson,

Thanks for the question.

This is not a backdrop but some swirls drawn in sand that is lit from underneath.

I'm taking a class and this may be one of my submissions for the assisgnemt of "Totally Abstract".

What do you (or anyone else) think of it?

Thanks.

Very nice!

My first reaction is that it is underexposed and has too much contrast. Then I read your explanation of what and why.

So, that put a different context around it and suggested that I should try to give it a different twist - especially since there are no holds barred when dealing with the abstract:lol:

In my rendition, I chose to invert the image to make the darks light and the highlights dark. Unfortunately, that process also inverts the color image into its Color Negative form, which for this image turns it into a predominantly cyan image. In order to get rid of the cyan I just converted to grayscale, and liked what I got.

However, it's a free for all, and there's no "right" or "wrong" way to deal with it.

Just having fun!

Robert,

Thanks for the input and the idea.

Although I'm happy with the original image, I'll do some playing around with this tonight.
