I'm about to buy some gear, including a body, but keep hearing whispers of new models on the way...

Anyone know anything about a 10D or 300D replacement?

Nobdy outside Canon knows about a replacement of any Canon camera. Everything you read on the Internet or what your local dealer tells you is just speculation, even if people try to convince you they "know it for sure"..... so don't count on what the rumours say.

Oh yea... don't trust what you are told by a 'canon rep' or someone you speak to at canon... untill the release they have to keep schtum too so....

Thanks... I guess I was also wondering whether anyone had a gut feeling on the issue. Generally companies have certain timeframes that they try to meet in terms of product superceding...

I suppose if you look at it that way, bith the 10D and the 1Ds are due to be superceeded. Not because of age, but because the market is ready for an upgraded version of each one :)

Very likely the the 10d will have a replacement come a months time...lots and lots of rumors going around, its time for it too


Seccond hand information, but.. Best Buy has entered a new SKU into their computer system. The description is Canon EOS 20D kit with EF-S 18-55mm lens $1499.99 in store date 10/10/04


how true might that be? I donno...Im calling my fraternity brothers that work at best buy to find out for me though ;)
