Thanks to everyone that entered this competition, and having tried on many occasions to get some good firework shots and failed miserably I know how hard it is to get that one shot, as fireworks are some of the most unpredictable things to shoot.

1st is Monoprint.... I really like the "close action" of this photo and the colours of the fireworks have blended well to make the picture come out to greet you when you view it...... Congrats a worthy winner
2nd is Dilorenzo......... Great catch and a very close winner of the competition. I especially liked the amount of sharp detail captured with the 1 second exposure, and I would not have a problem having this photo hanging on my wall. Well Done
3rd is VorteC....... Can I see the next frame where his shirt goes up in flames! :( I would have probably liked it to be a bit sharper but it really does show that you should never get too close to these things, and a good shot in the lighting you had to work with.

It's probably not normal to comment on all pictures entered but seeing there wasn't a great deal of entries :( I thought i would tell you how I came to my top three.......

RX350..... I would have liked to see this picture being a bit darker as the colour of the sky detracts my attention from the photo.
Coralnutz.... It's a really good capture especially with the gold ball of light in the centre of the explosion, but i would have liked to have seen a bit more action in the shot and well done anyway......
Openmatt..... Everything around the firworks was a bit distracting and took my eye away from where I should be concentrating on, but I think this was due to you not being able to get as close as you would have liked with the lens you had on. The plane in the foreground would have worked well for me if you could have got lower to this so that the shape of the plane appeared in the fireworks. Good try anyway.
Steve535..... I liked your shot with the white trails going up to the two explosions, and this came a very close third in my judging, well done.
Monty28428.... both fireworks are well placed within the shot and go well with the houses below. Another shot that was close to my top three. Congrats......

Congratulations Monoprint, it's your turn to post the next comp, and seeing that you have only posted twice on POTN, if you need any help to get the next one going just let us know

Congrats to the winners, well to all the posters really. I had to excuse myself from this week's challenge due to my lack of decent firework photos. I have tried twice and failed miserably both times.

Awesome... I like the critiques of each photo... yea. I probably had some better composition ones and at the time I had just bought my camera to replace my old stolen one, but I really just like the two perpendicular explosions there... next time!
