His aperature being a point and shoot would have been alot higher, so although its bright on your camera :) its perfect on his.

Did your flash go off as well? That would have washed out his, LOL! Also remember though that those LCD's are terrible with angles, and brightness so it very well may not been as "overexposed" as it looks.
