I'll be 40 in less than a month

Turning 30 was hard. Turning 40 is terrible. (Maybe if I was in better shape & etc, I might not be taking it like this...: )
It's really not so bad Lisa :) I tripped over 40 and I kinda like it. Much more freedom of self, much less painful self consciousness. I'm not even afraid to go the the store sans make-up and hairspray anymore :)
Well, since the BAHA MEN's version of Dancing in the moonlight wasn't on youtube, I decided to put it there. It's my first youtube video and I made some mistakes but I put together some birds shots and the music and viola my first youtube ;) ...

Does anyone here know what Danielle's username here on POTN is? She's a 17-year old that used to hang out in the People forum, but I haven't seen her around here lately. She had an avatar that was a closeup of her face, where she was holding up her hand, and written on the hand was "I (heart) POTN" or "I love POTN" or something like that.

She sent me a comment about Ashley on MySpace that I want to add to the POTN part of Ashley's memorial page, but for the life of me I can't remember what her username is here. I've looked through 130 pages (sorted by post count) in the Member list, and can't find her avatar. I did find one very similar, but it isn't her.

Anyway, I'm too embarrassed to admit to her that I forgot who she is on the forum... Here are her self portraits on MySpace (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=9769624&albumId=0), if it'll help remind you what she looks like.

Love the colours Deb. We don't get that too much in our trees, especially the ones in our forests, which are primarily aspen and poplar, with a bit of birch thrown in.

Hi Miss Terri:) Hope you and your girl are okay.
We pay a lot for insurance but I have no complaints. I see specialists when I choose to, I have the latest best tests and have MRI, CAT, and nuclear imaging results the same day. I feel bad for Mark trying to get answers about how Nathan is walking. I think he said it was 5 weeks to get the test results. My sister lives in UK and is on their health program. She says if you are dying you will get good care but you may die before you get the diagnosis. Deb is so right about having an advocate or at least being your own advocate so you stay in control. Read the fine print and unless you HAVE to for financial reasons don't skimp on insurance.

Hiyas :) Thanks for asking, Nikki is home and resting, still having some pain, but everything is medically okay. She is full of positive thoughts and soaking up the love of her daughter.

My insurance is employer provided. I have to follow up on every claim, submit explanations of injuries and pay $1500 in deductibles up front (that is in addition to $3600 in annual premiums) before any coverage kicks in. And God forbid I take my family to a doc not on the provider list

When Puppy died, I swore I would never get another cat. That promise lasted less than a year. But, I really, truly feel different about Ashley. Us humans can be pretty fickle beasts, so I should never say never. I honestly feel different about it this time. She was a tough act to follow. I don't even want to try.

And, that isn't the grief talking. I made this decision a few years ago. Even before she was diagnosed with the various medical problems she had. I swore years ago that she would be the last dog I would ever allow inside my home.

Can't multi-quote from a closed thread...

Lonnie The healing has already started, like all wounds it takes time to heal completely.

Insurance Having been on the admin side at a company, I can tell you first hand watch everything, keep every piece of paper and match your bills up with your EOB (Explanation of Benefits). Can't tell you how many times I called our PPO partners reminding them the company has an automatic discount that they are to apply to the bill before sending out. Mind you, I only called for those employees that brought me their bills, I can only imagine how many paid the bottom line without checking the information.

I have to add, I've also seen chronic workman's compensation frauds. Employees that jump from employer to employer making claims within a month or two of hire. It can be expensive for an employer to have them investigated for fraud. Unfortunately, it is the sins of these few that cost those who have legitimate claims, time and frustration.

Nice wall art Becky :D

Cool pirate Crissa :)

Thank you, I actually decided to process this for a special frame I have in my work office. I'll try to explain, it holds a total of 9 4x6 prints in 5 rows and can be hung either landscape or portrait orientation. Top and bottom rows hold one picture, 2nd and 4 th rows two pictures, and the middle row 2 pictures. I thought it would be cool to take a full landscape shot like this and divide it into 9 shots so that when mounted in this frame the 9 shots also form 1 shot. KWIM?

I'm working on it now in the background, I'll try to frame it out for the visual so you can see how it will look.

We are going to book our flights tomorrow. We plan to fly in to Newark where Lisa's brother will pick us up. We plan to end our trip with a couple nights in NYC. Would Newark be an ok place to fly out of? It does seem cheaper for flights to book return. How would one best get from NYC to the airport then, cab or transit. We will likely rent a car, but plan on dumping it once we head in to the city.

Newark is great to fly in or out of, much better than NYC airports IMO. There are shuttles from NYC to Newark, most leave from The Port Authority bus terminal at 42nd street. You can also take a cab but it would probably be a bit spendy, 60 dollars or more I'd imagine. Your best bet would be to contact the concierge at your hotel and see what they recommend.

Crissa, or anyone else in that neck of the woods, I have a question.

Would Newark be an ok place to fly out of? Ha ha ha ha, sorry, I have had dreadful times in Newark but it is that whole area. There is an equal chance your flight will be delayed or canceled than there is you will leave on time. If you have a laptop with wireless bring it and log on to the airport network for like $7.00, at least you can hang with us while you wait. Overbooking is big in the national news right now and they say much of the nations delays come from the NYC area.

Play with Lightroom a bit Terri, the processing flow is better and maybe you will be excited about your output. ;)

That is on my agenda for tomorrow :) I have been reading Scott Kelby's book and thought I would test run some of my existing files.
I also need to clean up my photo's. I have way too many 'test' type shots that don't need to clutter up my space. Sometimes this hobby is a tad overwhelming.
