BG-E3 serial #, where is it??

I am going nuts trying to find the serial # for the BG-E3 for the canon xt. I need it so I have it on my insurance policy for my gear. It is not printed the card inside the box. Its not on the Grip itself. Does anyone know where it is? Im going over to the insurance agents office tomorrow with the list of serial #'s to put on the policy.

On the grips for both my 20D and D60 it's on the bottom plate that holds the tripod socket.

on the 40d grip it is just above the screw for the ballhead plate. The xt grip has nothing there but some weird looking symbol. There is nothig on the outside, or on the electrical post. I pulled out the battery tray to see if its maybe on that, nothing. Looked in teh batter comparment and still nothing.

Is the grip a Canon or a third-party grip? If'it's a third-party grip, it might not have a serial number.

My suggestion for insurance purposes it to take a picture of each item of your gear and file them somewhere safe in case of a claim. I did this with ALL my gear, including tripods, monopods and bags, all of which don't usually have serial numbers.

My grip (Canon) has no serial either. Don't have box anymore so don't know if it's on there. :confused:

I have the receipt for the canon grip when purchased. But again it only has the stores serial # and not the canon one. It don't matter at this point. The insurance agent has coppies of all my receipts, pics of gear that I didn't have receipts for along with current retail prices for that gear so they have a mentary amount. Only things I added that I didn't care about were the 420ex flash and the kit lens. Everything else was added with a value roughly $6000 give or take a few bucks and its only costing me $83 a year.
