Will there be a 1D Mark IIIN?

Now that there is some promise that the autofocus issues are fixed on the 1D Mark III, I'm thinking of getting one. My first choice is to get the 5D replacement as a back up, but if there isn't a 5D replacement soon, I think it makes the most sense for me to get a Mark III. 1Ds is just too much money for me right now.

So...do you guys think a 1D Mark IIIn is in the works? Do you think the autofocus issue will make for a "n" release sooner rather than later or vice versa? I'm going to guess, from the 1D Mark IIn, that the differences between III and IIIn won't be that great anyways.

Nahhh... AF fix doesn't justify a "N" tag - if it does have an N later on in life it'll probably have some contrast-AF Liveview or whatever and some other minor nice bits :)

agree better LCD dispay and AF in live view would be good but n shouldnt be out for a couple of years.

You think it will be at least a couple of years? Didn't the IIn come out 18 months after the Mark II?

I haven't heard about this. Is it a firmware or actual hardware fix to correct the AF issue?

with the D3 looming overhead, I think that canon might actually be rushing to get to the market this time. potentially the IIIN, but maybe canon will skip straight to the ff dsIII.

When the get the Mark III to work, they will have to rename it to IIIN.

The IIIN will have a 12" LCD. Same pixel resolution though. It'll look like a billboard through a bird's eyes right before the thwunk.

I hope there is a 1D III N since I am really thinking about picking up the current 1D but still not sure if everything is fixed but an N would hopefully mean the camera is perfect.

Don't see it, sure an N version will come it, maybe earlier than usual, but not at least till summer time next yr, a yr on from he 1 D MK3 Release, and will add a few more useful items
