Spent a day at the wetlands and wanted to share some of my shots. Had a rare sunny day here in the Pacific NW. Thanks for looking and hope you see something you like. C&C always welcome.

Right before this shot, this Rough-legged Hawk swallowed a vole whole. My first shot of this species (assuming I've ID'd correctly!)

Nice pose and gradient like BG in the RWBB shot and I especially like the Rough Legged hawk image. I also like the Golden Crowned Sparrow and had not seen one on this site for some time now. Nice series!

Very nice set of shots, especially the RWBB! I know what you mean about the "rare" sunny day in the PNW.;) ...btw, I think your id is correct, that is indeed a Rough-legged Hawk and that's a great shot, I've never gotten anywhere near that close to this skittish bird.:)

I really like the GBH shot. Great contrast with the BG and very sharp.

Wow Dennis. So this is what you've been doing. Very nice shots all of them. I like the Sparrow, never having seen one of these, but they are all excellent. The egret shot especially, for the reflection.

Thanks Gary for looking and commenting. The RWBB was the first shot of the day with the best morning light. He didn't show me much of his red wing but I was happy with it anyway.

Gary F, thanks, too for your comments. The hawk was quite a distance away and this is a heavy crop but I was happy especially beings it was my first encounter. Always appreciate your comments!

Thank you downywp! I have some shots of the hawk catching and eating a vole but because of my distance from him (and probably a little camera shake!) they weren't as clear as I had hoped they would be. The one I posted was border line but I liked the wing position.

Thank you Ira for looking and commenting. The GBH was practically a full frame shot--I was that close.

Mitch, I really appreciate the kudos on the shots and I'm glad you liked them. I was pretty happy with the egret but was disappointed with the partially washed out reflection. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Excellent series. The shots of the Red-winged Blackbird and GBH are my favorites followed closely by the shot of the Rough-legged Hawk. :-)

Nice series, Dennis. I don't know why but I am partial to the Sparrow. The RWBB is very nice as well.

Ed, thank you for your kind comments. I, too, ended up liking the sparrow shot. I would have liked to have seen the bird a little lighter but against the already bright background, I didn't want to push it further.
