 I own a Canon Rebel EOS 300D camera. I love it but there are times where I want to save original high resolution of the picture, but in some cases I'd like to reduce the pixel size of the photo for e-mail's for web posting etc. Outside of taking the original into a photo program like Picasa2 and using it's e-mail function that does provide the reduction, does anyone have a better solution?
Thanks,
Papa1

Get a Gmail account which allows you to send large attachments (or) pay for webhosting and send people the links of the photos you have taken (or) free photo sites.

You can open it up in MSPaint and stretch/skew it smaller.
You can resize it in Photoshop.
You can download Microsoft's right-click image resizer ( http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe )

I haven't used this utility (free) in a while but I found it very good at the time.

Or you could use a batch converter like http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm and resize a bunch of pictures at the same time.

Or if you use MS Outlook for your email there is a picture re-sizing dropdown built into it.
Or you could use the Zoombrowser (free with camera) email utility that also resizes it.

Yes, Outlook and Outlook Exprss will offer to shrink photos before mailing them. Personally, I either use the Resize Pictures PowerToy or do it myself in Irfanview, which latter gives me more control.

And on another thread I saw this free download.

Haven't used it but I use other VSO products and they are great.

My thanks to all who contributed to my inquiry. The software suggestions you provided have been downloaded for evaluation. It's great to be part of a great forum!
