I would get the Tamron, oh wait, I did :D . I love this lens and did enough research on it prior to buying it to know it is the best of the ones you have listed. Here is a picture I took with the Tamron a couple of days ago. Taken at 2.8 aperature & 75mm.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the Tamron if you get it.

There used to be several versions of the sigma (and there may still be) so this following info may or may not be usefull
here's an extremely good example of the tamron verses one of the f2.8 sigmas

Tamron is spookily close in sharpness to the Canon L equivalent from everyhing I've seen. I spoke to some pros here in Dallas that have the L, but bought the Tamron as backup lenses and said they don't really notice any difference between the two other than the Canon having a slight focus speed edge. For under $400, you just can't beat the Tamron. Add a 70-200L 4.0 and maybe the 100mm prime Canon Macro 2.8 if you want macro ability and you're set for not a lot of dough. That's what I did and it's worked great for me. (Although I sold the 70-200 f4 so I can save for the 2.8, but that's phase 2)

Love my Tamron! Most images are as sharp or sharper than my 70-200. Highly recommended based on image quality and cost.
Here's a couple sample images ... just a few I threw together when I first bought the lens:

The Tamron has quickly garnered an almost cult like following on many sites..
I have not used any of the above.. but I read abot this Tamron all the time. No one is talking much about either the Tokina or the Sigma...
Not scientific.. could be hype.. but it certainly has made me pay attention.

Definetely Tamron (I got it and I'm very :D about it), unless you need a tank-like lens that Tokina is famous for...

In hindsight I'd have saved up for the Canon 24-70 L for the slightly longer range and faster/more accurate AF. I find my Tamron hunts a bit when using anything but the center AF point. Also the lens hood feels thin and plasticky and very cheap, and I don't like the lack of full-time MF. But for the price or even for 2x the price, it just can't be beat!

I bought the Tamron 28-75 2.8 & 70-200 4.0L as my first two lenses. My next one will be the 100-400L hopefully. Looks like great minds think alike. :D

My Tamron is a terrific lens - light, nice built, has reasonably fast AF and sharpness (even at f/2.8 ) :

No question, buy the Tamron. I bought the Tamron 28-75 along with the Canon 70-200 f4 and the new Tamron 90mm macro. For not a huge amount of money I am thrilled with this set of lenses.

I'm also very happy with my Tamron. I did a wedding with it, the 70-200 and the 50 1.8 last weekend and was quite pleased with the 28-75 Tamron. I think the majority of my shots were with the Tamron.

I have the Tamron, and I think it's nearly as sharp as my Canon 50mm f/1.8. It is a really great lens, but I don't seem to have it on my camera very often. I got it to be my main walk around lens, but it isn't wide enough to be useful for a lot of the landscape shots I like to take. As far as image quality though, it is excelent.

The Tokinas are definitely an older an inferior design...they were okay years ago, but the "DI" lenses do make a difference, particularly in resistance to flare on digital cameras.
