How can you check the photo counter of the powershot G5 ? is there any software that does that ?
(like how many pictures the camera has taken in its life...)
Thanks

There is a function in the menus that can track your total shots taken with the camera...provided it has never been reset.
Go into playback mode and hit the menu key, click right to get you to the tools menu (the one with the wrench and sledgehammer) and click down to the 'File No. Reset' function and hope that it is set to 'Off'. If it is set to 'Off' then you simply get out of the menu and hit the 'Display' button until you see one of the display screens that has text info (2 out of the 3 screens) and your total pictures should be in the top right-hand corner of the display (xxx-yyyy where yyyy=total pic count).
Now if memory serves....if the 'File No. Reset' is set to 'On', then I believe yyyy=total pic count since the CF card was last removed (or formatted). Maybe some of the gurus in this forum can help you on that one.
Hopefully that helps you out....
Cheers! :)

Seems to me there is a counter in the Zoombrowser program too that will show total number of pics even if you use FILE NO RESET. Maybe I am wrong though... (I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken  )
