Michelle and I had the chance to spend the night at Cape Lookout Saturday night and had the privilege of taking some awesome rare shots of this spectacular lighthouse.
Here are a couple pics from the sunset and a few at night:

Not the best shots, but I thought I would share them with you. I will post the sunrise ones shortly.

Great shots. Love the last two. I have been to Cape Lookout during the day, but never at night. I may have to venture down there one evening.

Lovely series.
Guys, the kit lense is a good little lense if it's used right!

Great shots. Love the last two. I have been to Cape Lookout during the day, but never at night. I may have to venture down there one evening.
I think if you do decide to go for the evening, make sure you bring your overnight bag and a tent. The tiny ferry boat seats 15 people and stops running at 5pm and resumes their runs the following day at 9am the next day. Cell service was on roam. The battery died during the night because of it. And the only electric on the island was in the lighthouse keepers house (not accessable to public at night). The only running water is in the unlit toilet stall (in the toilet) or at the pumps along the paths the fishermen use.
I'm glad you like the shots, I enjoyed taking them.
