Hello all...

I just recently joined a local photo club and every month they pic a topic to shoot and then you bring 4 or 5 of your best shots to the next meeting. I amvery new to this and thats why I joined the club to learn. This months topic is ABANDONED. Could anyone post up a link or some example shots of ABANDONED.

Thanks for any help.
Brian

I saw a photo one time entitled "Abandoned." It was of a baby bird in a nest with no parent bird around, and the baby looked pretty sad.

This word brings into mind abandoned buildings, mines, military installations and such. Common characteristics of them tend to be broken windows, rusted metal parts and casual plant growth.

In Eastern Europe you can find a lot of abandoned Soviet military stuff. I have an example of marine mines "graveyard" (http://jyrgen.fotopic.net/p1071680.html).

And last but not least, you guys abandoned slavery some time ago, didn't you? That would make a difficult but surprise solution for this topic, maybe.

An car broken down sitting along side the highway, a junk yard, a stray dog in an area where you wouldn't normally see a dog, a homless person, litter along the road. This would be an easy subject given a little imagination.

Thanks for the replies. Those are all great Ideas. I will do some looking around on my way home from work. Once I find some Abandoned subjects to shoot I will post them. :)

If you are still interested, I can paste a link to a photo contest about "BROKEN & ABANDONED" we just concluded. Let me know.

There is a MFA in Union, MO that would work great. It has been closed for awhile. If you want more info PM me. There are a lot of things in 1 mile of that that would work.

But thank you for the input about Union. It is a little out of the way for my schedule at this time. But I would like to go to Lil Grand Canyon down south in Missouri.. Have you ever been there?

Hi dorkn,

I'm afraid I can't go to the site I told you about. Our ISP "blocked" pbase.com.
