Thanks Ira :).. There are a pair of these at the pond right now... Very cool eyes... I have been photographing the Pied Billed Grebes for a few years here and this is the first of the Least Grebes I have seen at the pond.... Hopefully they will make a habit of being here.... Glad you liked the shot.... Take care :)

I like them all. That least grebe has cool eyes. Had to look that one up in my book to see if there was a possibility to add that one to my collection....sigh it's territory is to far south!

Hi Mitch... I have been working hard,,,,or is it hardly working?? ;)... The bird count has been down for some reason. Today was a pretty good day for the pond, but still leaner than it should be.... I was pleased to get a close pass, by the Egret, and the Grebe also slid in close in the early afternoon. I shot the 100-400 with TC today. Glad you liked them pal... Take care

Thanks for the nice comment RW.... Glad you liked the Grebe shots... I have seen many in Florida, and it is nice to see them here in the Bahamas... I do feel for you guys up north missing out on the tropical birds, but you certainly have your share of outstanding stuff too :)... I missed an outrageous Owl shot yesterday.... Swooped down out of the tree and was gone before I could raise the camera.... It was huge though I couldn't get an ID. I knew there were Owls here, but that was a first for me... Now I am walking very quietly, and scouring the trees as thoroughly as possible on the walk to and from the pond.... Wish I had been more aware when I could have nailed an amazing shot..... I'll get it, in time ;).... Take care

Excellent work again Alex! :)... love the action with the Least Grebe and really nice detail in the Red-legged Thrush...Are you sure that's a Yellow Warbler? I am not sure what kind of sub species you have in the Bahamas, but it sure looks like a Tanager to me because of the bill shape and white wing bars...

Nice series Alex, especally the 2nd Least Grebe which made me laugh. It definitely has a "what are you looking at" look about it.

Hey Alex, long time no post!

Nice series here, I like the Squirrel (?) Look similar to a small rodent here in the states!
Love the flying egret, but I am always partial to BIF. Like that last on a lot also. Thanks for posting.

Enjoyable series Alex! Those Egret shots are to die for--especially #2. The grebe is very cute and the thrush is quite unusual--at least to me! That squirrel bird is a great catch, too.
