Brush along the riverbank in the background. I was paying so much attention to the bird, I didn't even notice it until I got home to look at the pictures and PP. Took me 6 weeks to get this shot, the background was the icing on the cake...

Nice shot! Interesting contrast from the bird to the bg. I tried all summer to get a decent shot of one of those and couldn't get anything but a little blue dot or blue blur on the other side of the pond. Well done!

Welcome and very nice shot. This is a tough bird to capture so I am not surprised that you tracked it for six weeks. I have followed these guys back forth along our local streams for days without getting a shot. Now let's see more!
