Green finch

Had another go at bird photography while i was procrastinating(suposed to be studying for exams)

Through a window unfortunately

Taken with 100-400mm and i have a question

If the 100-400 has a 'sweet spot' at f8 which is 3 fstops from wide open(is that right?) if i then put a 1.4 teleconverter on it is it at its 'sweat spot' because its at f8 or will it be at f11(3 f stops from wide open)

Is that the real name for this bird? "Green Finch"? Doesn't look very green to me.. I was expecting some exotic "recently-fertilized-spring-fresh grass green"... Ah well :p

Nice capture nonetheless! Are these birds quite active or will they perch long enough to get some photos?

Haha yea yellow finch would have suited better. and no these birds are quite terrible. huge flight distance and the only time they sit still is when they r singing(until they see a person and GOOONE!)
