You might have seen my first thread (here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=397823)) with photos from a classic car show which I couldn't identify.
Here are the rest of them. As before, any help with identification, and any comment /critique, would be very welcome.
And if anybody could explain why so many of these cars are painted that red/pink colour...?

Yes I know it's an air filter. (Well, I assumed it is - I've never seen one that clean!) It's what it's attached to that's interesting.

It's attached to a carburator I guess :p
;)
Wouldn't know what engine that is ... but I do know somebody took a lot of time to clean the engine, and put all cables and hoses throuhg those chrome "flexible hoses".

Crikey that is one heck of a lot chroming in the engine bay. As for the engine I suppose it is a V8 lump of some type but hopefully those more in the know about these 'rodded up' 1950's cars/pickups can give some definitive answers???

Its a chevy probably a 350 but without a picture of the outside I cant be sure.
#7 1954ish chevy pickup.
#9 46 ford sedan
#10 38-40ish chevy pickup.
#11 is either an early 30's ford or chevy tudor.
I'll look at your other thread aswell.

you can zoom in on that white piece of paper on each cars front window... that would help (or next time, make yourself get a picture of them).
nice pictures by the way.

Why all the chrome? Because you can.:)

Why all the chrome? Because you can. I've seen one guy with some gold plating! We used to say, "If it won't go, chrome it." Even here, a lot of these guys don't have any idea what their quarter mile times are. Which I can excuse in a '[50 Chevy, but not a '69 Mopar with a full NO2 bottle.

I think thats all of them let me know when you find a pic of the outside of the yellow and chrome carWow. Thanks once again. (I assume you mean #8 is a 37 Ford convertible?) Sadly I don't have a picture of the yellow/chrome car - the lighting was horrible and I just couldn't get a decent shot. I think I should have though, just for information/identification purposes.

Does anyone have any comments on the photos themselves?
This was the first time I've really tried taking photos of a car show. It was frustrating trying to find good angles - too much clutter in the background, and I gave up on a lot of shots simply because there were so many people milling around.
Still, since I posted these I've compared my efforts with a load of car show photos on POTN taken by other people. It looks to me like the compositional difficulties are quite commonplace, so I'm feeling a bit better about that. And, given that I didn't have any say in the lighting, I'm generally quite happy with the exposures too. (I appreciate FrankC's advice that indirect lighting is to be preferred, but I guess one advantage of being forced to shoot in the sun is that the colour saturation is pretty good. These photos are essentially straight out of the camera.)
What do you think?
(And why are so many of them red/pink?)

I like the photos alot, Good color clear You really caught them good especially since they were inline at a car show.
As for the red is the best color to catch peoples attention If you have 2 identical cars together say black and red. the black stands out more. And since everyone thinks the same you get a bunch of them at big events haha.
And a few years ago someone tried the peach color( which I dont like) and like anyhting else some thought it stood out and looked "custom" now alot of people have it haha

I like them all. Colors seem to be right on, and nice angles. The engine pic looks good too, the reflection on the chrome air cleaner gives it a unique look.
