Here's a sampling of some of my images from last weekend's race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Number one is my favorite of the bunch, technically it might not be perfect, I'm sure people will complain about clipping off the tiny bit of the front of the Audi. That being said I think you've captured the absolute perfect moment there, great work.

I love that first shot... great timing, action, light, etc. The color tone on the Lowes Acura is a nice touch and works well with the mood of the car. Well done.

Hey Todd, thanks. I knew you would get what I was after in the first shot. That shot was pretty backlit, and I used +2/3 stop exposure comp. to get some fill; shutter speed was 1/160th on the 70-200/2.8. A bit of a tough shot to get as those boys have the really have the hammer down at that point coming into Andretti, as you know. And they were going, too, because they were really trying to beat each other to the apex.

BTW, I saw your post of your images, and I think they are really excellent. It always good to see your buddy's work and see new and fresh perspectives. I love the wide angle shot of the Ferrrari F430 through the Corkscrew...my favorites of yours are #2, 3, 4 and 6. The Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche panning shot is most excellent! Great to see you there as always! See you at testing in Feb. or March.

Mike Doran's Black & White shot in three is terrfic, too.

#1 & #2 for me! Very nice shots.

I saw the last hour or so of the race on the TV. It was exciting stuff. I'd love to get to Laguna Seca one day. The Corkscrew is a crazy set of bends but the TV coverage this time didn't really do it justice.

Nope, the cameras do not do the Corkscrew justice...they do not convey the vertical drop, much in the same way you lose how much of a climb there is from Paddock Hill Bend to Druids at Brands. It just gets "lost in translation". But the real fun is to ride through the Corkscrew on your motorcycle, flicking it left and then right down the hill. Wonderful.
