You should have cut out the people on the right. What did the shot look like about 2 minutes earlier? Sky color?

I tried to snap it before the people got in the frame, but the camera was just not fast enough. About 2 minutes earlier looked pretty much the same. Earlier shots did not turn out as good.

Thanks for the warning. I don't know what I would have done had I just happened upon this thread without prior knowledge of your being new to photography. Maybe... I would have just said "great picture". But since I know now that you're a beginner I'll just leave it at... "eh, I've seen better" :D
I am so just kidding! Great composition (beginner or not)!
I think with a tripod, your rebel, the nifty fifty and a little dose of photoshop skizils you are going to be great at your new found hobby. :D Years from now we're gonna all be saying "I replied to a post that guy had way back when... before fame took him away from our beloved forum".
In all seriousness... great shot! I'm looking forward to more :D

Yeah, just thought I'd warn people ahead of time. I'm used to being on a forum where people aren't afraid to "tell it like it is" instead of giving helpful advice or comments.
Thanks for the comments!!
