Certainly a first for me if not a first ever, I dragged my Sigmonster along to Goodwood today and pointed it at the vintage cars, the light was terrible but despite that I'm pleased with how it performed :)

1. Nice old Wolsley

#5 1906/1915 Mors le Sanglier - so now you know!

Lovely shots, Juz. The Sigmonster did good. We'll need to try it with something moving a little quicker next! I suspect the truck racing at Brands is not going to be its natural home though ;)

JuZ, these are very nice indeed. Would appreciate it if you would expand on just how the Sigmonster coped, accepting that these cars aren't the quickest as Glenn has already stated.

Cheers,

Simon.

It did really well with focus speed and accuracy, sadly being a constant f/5.6 lens I was up around ISO1000 most of the time, however as Glenn will no doubt agree it is hard to track accurately at 800mm on a monopod when the wind is blowing!

There's nothing wrong with any of the shots however, as a set this lacks a bit of variety. The only thing that really changes is the car is different in each shot, not one shot is bad it's just that they're all pretty much the same. A bit like those two sentences, they both say almost exactly the same thing.

Shame most of them are using modern helmets as well, not that you can help that ...

The results from the Sigmonster look good Juz, especially considering the conditions on the day. Great work with these.

Cheers,
Steve

Yep, I agree. Great Pics. Did you get any wild comments about your camera/lens setup?
