Took a trip through Arches not too long ago and got a ton of great shots. I'll have to post some of the other stuf in other threads, there is just too much to take in all at once. For now, here are some of the ladscapes of the National Park.

Did you stitch numbers 1-4? How did you get that great flare in number 3?

And number 5 is amazing.

Yes, most were shot with the 10-22

Nope, didn't stitch any of them. I just cropped them to give them the feel of a panoramic shot. I got the flare in number 3 strictly because of my position and the timing of the sun rising between the rocks. A littl skill, but lots of luck for sure.

I don't recall the exact settings, although you could find the exif on my Pbase page if your interested. A few reasons I believe I was able to do this was for one, I underexposed the pictures by anywhere from 1 to 2 stops. The other thing I did was to meter off the mountains or rocks in the foreground. Between focusing on the near and then underexposing I was able to get the sun without flare. The other thing that I think was really key, the time of day. It was at sunrise, when the sunlight is really soft.
