thats gorgeous . almost as though the golden gates of Jerusalem are imbedded in the wailing wall

love the way the beautiful leaves are stuck in between the boards like that ,else they would have blown away ...most likely

Thanks for the feedback.

@Marie: I immediately thought of some dramatic cineastic scenes, where the tiny protagonists move slowly towards the huge gate, no one really knowing what lies behind it - doom or glory...

The leafs add the scale to make the door huge, the metal represents the impermeable shield, the rust adds a dimension of time and the leafs add life and movement. I liked the scene for these qualities.

I have a prejudice against centered shots... but this one works, right? At least I like it. Also, great colors. :)

Great shot, the leaves stuck in the decking adds to the already interesting contrast.

Roland, this really is awesome. Rule of thirds....bleh! Who needs that with composition like this! I love to see this same image shot with a fisheye from a low perspective. You don't own one do you?

Very rich colors! What camera did you use for it?

Again, thanks for your comments!

Rule of thirds....bleh!

Right. Rules are guidelines, not laws... know them so good that you can do without them. ;)

You don't own one do you?

Nope. I do 95% of my shooting with the same lens: Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-4.5 and the trusty old little EOS 350D. A travel kit that I almost always have with me.

Very rich colors! What camera did you use for it?

See above. However, I don't really see how the colors and the camera are related...
