Great showing on your 40D's ISO 3200 performance.
You got 1/500s at ISO 3200, I think you could have also succeeded using ISO 800 and 1/125s. But of course, in the middle of the action, changing ISO to the optimum would not have been feasible, and then you'd need 1/500s to stop fast hockey action!

Great, especially at 3200. Looks like the blue team started all the fights too :D

Bit confused about the first shot though, perhaps its my eyes. What are the lines running across the frame?

Good eyes, what you are seeing is the reflection of a concrete block wall in the glass that I'm shooting through. Not quite sure why it showed up in that particular shot.

Do polarizers help eliminate that?

Perhaps even getting a lot closer to the glass perhaps.

Looks like it was a game with just a little bit of feeling in it.
Good shots, good focus, may be just a bit on the dark side.
If find when shooting through glass it better to have the lens touching it, but in this case it looks as if the action was right on the glass, hence having to stand back.

LOVE the pictures. thats the great thing about Juniors when they fight. they first take the time to take off helmets and gloves, then go at it; as opposed to the NHL, most of the time they just go. Juniors fights are more fun to watch

Nice shots but I would like to see some hockey ;) Two Quake players are from our high school team. I'm glad to see that neither of them are involved in any of the fights.

Thanks - I just found it. I've been away for a while (new laptop) and was going in reverse. I really like the results with your 40D. I've shot games at the Cody rink (home of the Quake) with my 30D. I would like to see some comparisons between the 40D and the 30D. If your results are any indication then I need to upgrade.
