How many of you have a significant other that enjoys photography as much as you do?
I was at the camera store today and saw/heard this old couple debating on which lens to use for their shoot today. I thought it be awesome to have someone like that that shares the same interests.

Absolutely would be. Only way I'd get another girlfriend is if she were a Canon photographer. :-) Even then, I'd rather be friends. I don't need to be buying OTHER people lenses!

My wife is an occational "point and shoot" type of girl. :(
No interest to learn any REAL photography. Wish she was into it, then we could each have a body and share lenses and it would be a cheaper hobby between the 2 of us. :)

My husband kinda-sorta got into photography for a little while. I find it best for him to have his computers and me to have my photography. I tried computers for awhile (certified in PC service and support and web development). It just didn't stick. IMHO we share enough as it is, lol. Also, don't want him messing up my gear! :p

My husband has no interest in photography. I just wish I could find a friend that lived close by to go out shooting with.

haha im still searching for a Canon girl :) Must be one at my university :) lol
For anyone without a close friend or partner, i recommend searching for your local camera/photography club. In the UK there is one normally in most towns/cities! :) Well worth it

my husband did a unit of photography at uni, but had no real intrest in it. He has a great eye for it, it just doesn't attract him.
We're lucky though because our hobbies compliment each other. He loves fishing and l love landscape photography. So while he's fishing at the beach, creeks, rivers, lakes etc I just take photos of the area.
So we're always out in nature for one thing or another.

My husband was into photography long before I was. He just now made the jump to digital and is not really sure he's liking it. It's great to have something we can do together.

I sometimes wish my wife enjoyed photography -- or, for that matter, any of my hobbies. I spend 90% of my waking time doing software development in one form or another, and the remainder is split between photography, reading, using my sauna, etc. She uses the computer maybe 10 minutes a week, likes TV, can't stand the sauna, etc.
How an ESPF married an INTJ, I'll never know, but it's worked well so far. :)
During college, I had two classes that were taught by one or the other of a married couple (compiler design by him, computational theory by her), and I sometimes thought it would be neat to have a relationship with someone that shared my hobbies/profession. Then I came to my senses. I love software work, photography, etc., but I also enjoyed hearing my wife tell me about how she dealt with her students and their parents. (She was a third grade teacher until our son was born; now she's an at-home mom.) I find it interesting to hear about all the things in her profession, and I hope she gets the same from me.
Plus I think it'd be boring to be constantly discussing Turing Machines, database queries, f-stops, saunatonttu, Phaedrus, or whatever else, during dinner.

I've loved photography forever. Over the last year or so my hubby has taken more of an interest in photography and we go out shooting as often as we can. It really is nice to have someone to share your hobbies with!!
