I've got the opportunity to buy the Spyder2 Pro program but have heard that over time as a monitor loses it's proper colour the Spyder2 system won't be able to calibrate the monitor properly. I will be calibrating a 15inch macbook pro matte monitor. As for other options I'm also looking into Gretag Macbeth Eye One II software. Can somebody help me out with weighing options here?

also curious, why do some people calibrate their monitors every 2 weeks (or even more)? shouldn't one calibration do the trick?

Can't answer the Spyder2 question. I still use Adobe Gamma.

I would think if a monitor begins to break down and looses it's color pretty much any color calibration software won't be able to correct it.

I use the Spyder 2 but not the pro version as it seemed to be high on the list of being recommended and was only like 80.00.

Me too. I second that. Go for it. It works great.

Yep Spyder 2 as well. On Amazon it's somewhere around $54
