As no one has posted images from these meetings I thought I would make one of my rare visits.

I only do one bike meeting a year , the New Era Club Championship at Cadwell towards the end of the season. I covered the Sunday racing which didn't have the best of starts as there was a crash that led to one of the riders being air-lifted to hospital. Never the less, it was an enjoyable day.

The classic top of The Mountain shot - race winner Bill Jones:

Hall Bends is a great place to catch a good lean:

I like this angle for the background effect:

Off to Oulton Park for some four wheel racing, the last BARC meeting of the season. It was classic/historic touring cars and club Formula Renault.

In this shot, the petrol heads may spot a Peerless GT Phase One:

I used to own one of these:

Ric Wood started his race at the back and carved his way through a field of 40 to take the win. It wasn't only down to his ex DTM car, but to the best driving I have seen in club racing this season:

Oh, during the start of the Formula Renault race there was a major crash an a wheel came off one of the cars, bounced over the barrier and dug into the ground two feet from where I was standing. This is the closest I have come to very serious injury (or worse) for a few seasons. Here is the wheel in question:

I pulled a back muscle a couple of weeks ago so I have not been trackside recently.

Missed one. As the wheel was making its leap over the barrier I was catching another part of the same incident:

It was a pretty big mess to say the least.

Yes your back :D. Hope your muscle is ok. Very good pics. That DTM car is nice and glad your ok after the flying wheel, that just shows how dangerous motorsport can be.

Yes Matt, I have had a few narrow escapes over the years, including ending up on my back staring at the underside of a Ford halfway over the barrier.

I'll post one last shot, my favourite from Cadwell:

Glad you're okay.

As a spectator/photog, I'm always envious of you pros being so close to the action. Thanks for the reality check about how dangerous it can be.

All nice pictures btw.

Wow your not kidding a serious one! The accident bent the wheel clean off the tire! Stay safe out there!
