Which bag should I get remembering that I am trying to save for a digital rebel.

What are you using now? And is it big enough? I'd worry about the bag only after I had met my (current) photo needs - I wouldn't get a bag when my primary target was a camera or lens.

I have a 20 year old bag that is falling apart (I mean it) and is way to small.

I'd go to a surplus store and get a canvas bag. It'll hide the value of what inside, cost almost nothing and will do the job until you have more money. Put you $ into something that effects the image, and a bag doesn't do that.

Concur - a regular bookbag and some ensolite and you're in business. If you want a dedicated bag, get the Canon and a felt-tip pen (to cover the logo). Put the extra bucks to the real need.

I'm the (so far) solitary vote for the green Mini-Trekker. I have that bag and I really like the quality, versatility, and visibility. I would not trust my equipment to some war surplus cobbed-together kludge. The Trekker has plenty of extra compartments for better organization, and the harness system is excellent. It doesn't look significanty different than any other backpack, so it doesn't necessarily scream "Camera Onboard!"

That's what I did - and I feel much more comfortable carrying my camera around in crowds or late at night now.

Don't take over my thread.
I think I will just get a plain bag at the local store and then I will save money and will have to wait for the digi rebel and I will then have a better reason to buy it.

Oh, now I get it! I wasn't thinking about that 'other' thread. (The 7-page thread from hell! )

I voted for the Black one for the same reasons. Besides, my Tamrac bags are light Green, so this will help me to tell them apart at a glance. :D

Really sorry I couldn't resist
On the bag front, have a look at Billingham Bags.
I have had one for years and have bought a few other bags to replace it (Lowepro) and yet I keep using the Billingham. Really good quality gets better as it gets older and rather stylish. check them out @ http://www.billingham.co.uk/home.asp
