I'm just playing about with the private path feature to restrict image sizes bigger than 800pixels (longest edge) to selected users. I'm thinking of some means of registration for the bigger sizes. Has anyone done something like that or is there already an option in EE to allow users to register? Otherwise I could just restrict to friends/family.
Only issue is the system can be easily bypassed if you know the URL to the private path and the filename of the image (assuming the same name is used for all sizes).
For example, I may have my images in 'small' 'medium' and 'large' subfolders, so it's just a case of someone picking the URL for the medium image they can see and replace the folder name 'medium' with 'large'.
I guess I could rename the 'large' to be some obscure name. Would that be enough? I could also password protect the folder in Apache but don't know how well that would work.
Oh, and on a side note, is there a contact form in EE? The standard footer mentions using the contact form but I can't see one.
