 I've been asked by a friend to take some photos (head and shoulder) inside a beauty salon and on a runway. This was supposed to be strictly as a favor, but they seem to be asking for more. I'm not a pro, but I am also not a novice. I have a Canon 10d, 17-40, 28-135, 50mm and a 420ex flash w/stofen omni bounce and a lumiquest mini softbox. Would I be OK shooting in Program mode making minor adjustments for the surroundings or just leave it in Auto and let the camera do all the work? Can I get overall good results strictly using the 17-40? I don't plan on shooting from far away, so I may not use the 28-135. Also, isn't the 50mm a good portrait lense? As you can see, I am not trying to get real technical at this shoot, doing it as a favor. Any quick tips short of me earning my PhD in photography would be greatly appreciated. :D
