Sports sharping

I ask this question in another topic but since I am working mostly sports lately as I work on the latest 300 + shots, in the interest of saving time can you sharpen in DPP in raw and then convert to tiff of jpeg instead of using a sharpen method ie unsharp mask in photoshop and get the same quality of picture? My own test of this seems you get better results with unsharp mask but I may be to set in my ways cause this is just the way I have been doing it. I am only using photo elements 4.0 so don't burn at the stake. For the most part I need time saving tip here.

Write an action in photoshop that does your sharpening routine, you'll be glad you did and it only takes a few minutes.
