Went to the skate park in Allen, TX today and took my AB800 light.

Two good pictures. I'd say you took along the right gear and took them just in time before it got to dark.

I have always wanted to go to one of those and just shoot, but I felt like I would look like an idiot lol Any advice on this one?

and be chill about it
talk to some ofthe guys let them see you have a camera
when your done just give them a way to contact you or you to contact them
ohh and dont look like a complete football guy

i like the shots alot, i would like to see some fill flash though.... maybe by the fence.... just outta the frame to fill in the other side of the rider.

I agree, with the idea of the fence a little lit up, the pic would be spiced up a little, But still very nice captures.

I have shot at that park about a year ago but I have no idea where those pics are after switching computers a while back. That park is so good!

And as for just going to a park and wanting to take pictures, almost always the riders or skater will be down for doing it and working with you if you just talk to them. no worries. maybe also ask and incorporate a little what they say they think would look good.
