I’m doing some work for PaidPictures, however I’m having trouble with my powershot cam. Everytime I go out I have problems getting a steady shot. The pictures are better taken at night because less people are in the way but at night I can’t use flash for this assignment. I sometimes get blurry pictures. I think the shuttertime ain’t low enough.
What do you think? Buy another cam? :?
Thanks.
Nici.

Wha powershot? The lower the shuttertime the worse the picture is going to be blurred. To solve this get a tripod or monopod.

Buy another camera just because you don't know how to set up the camera for a faster shutter speed?! No....
What model Powershot camera is it? Try out Tv mode (shutter speed priority) if the camera has it. In Tv mode, you set the shutter speed and the camera selects an aperture setting to get a correct exposure.
You can also try setting a higher ISO setting. It works the same as using more sensitive film (with a higher ISO / ASA rating), if you've ever used film.
Read the manual of your camera, it's probably capable of a lot more than you think......
And welcome to the forums here! :)
