View Full Version : A few recent images (56k dialup warning)

Hey guys - these have all been taken in the past week with the 50/tubes combo. I'm mounting the flash directly on the hotshoe without and diffuser and getting what I think is a much better quality of light than with the Sigma/flash bracket/diffuser. Go figure...

I've been doing surprisingly well with this combo, despite the fact that I'm quite rusty from not doing much macro with my standard lens (Sigma 150mm @ 1:1), the higher mag shots of this combo have been reasonably easy for me.

Anyways, enjoy...I've got 2 more in threads in this series to post tonight (if I get the chance)...

I know the composition on this one sucks, but liked the lighting (not entirely deliberate I might add).

This one was slightly soft in the eyes, but I'm still happy with it.

Like the mossie and the Lynx spider. Don't think I'd let a mossie do that- no nasty diseases in OS carried by them ?

Hiya Dave,

Great shots, love the Mozie & Lynx with the Lynx being my favorite, like Brian I think I'd be wary of that Mozie, looks like a Tiger ?? yellow fever and dengue fever, mmmm no thanks.

I like the mozzie and the spider shot the best, great work. The lighting looks good as well.

Thanks guys - all mozzies can carry diseases, this one can carry ross river fever, dengue fever, malaria...by the time I realised it was biting me, it would have been too late to stop it...so I took the shot and then swatted it (mozzies, lice and fleas are the only things that I'll kill without any hesitation).

A great set of shots Dave and I agree, the results are very noticeably good! Love the first and last pics - that last one with the really soft background is great.
