Headed out for the NHRA to give the new 40D its first workout. The auto focusing work flawlessly, much better than the 20D from my previous outings. Here are a few...

4. Motor popped the blower about half track. Made for a nice light show.

Wow the first shot in particular is amazing. Airbrush out the tail of the competitor, although I only noticed it on second viewing.

Wow!!! Looks like that 40D worked out really good for you. It almost makes me think that my 20D isn't up to par anymore. I really like the shots of Angelle and Mike Neff - super sharp, and great panning! Any chance we can see more of your shots from Vegas?

Thanks for all the comments. I was shooting in manual mode and upped the ISO as the night went on. By the end of the night I was at 1600 ISO and the aperture as open as I could get with 100-400. Here are a couple more from the day.

pro mod is insane. my uncle runs a 56 fairlane, in the low 7's. maybe someday we'll be running with those guys. nice shot of max too, a good friend of my brothers crew

Sensational shots. Shots 3 and 4 show just how awesome the nitro cars can be. Shot 1 is almost perfect, so close that I didn't notice the other compettitor's wheelie bar until it was pointed out.
