I did some shooting this sunday and I felt the need to share :)

I was borrowing a friend's 85L and 5D as a backup to my 1d mark II. I noticed the 85L II has some CA issues wide open on bright subject, you'll see what I mean. Here's some of my favorites from the weekend:

These are great, gives you a feeling of a typical day on the street there- which is urban photography's bread and butter.

great job. I don't see the CA you're talking about.

Also consider if you weren't using the Mark II model of the 85L, all those shots would be OOF as it focused too slow.

Thank you all for your comments. I really think Im starting to find my niche with this style of photography.

MDJAK, if you look at the second to last photo of the woman hosing down the street, you can see purple fringing. Maybe if you go onto my flickr and look at a larger size, its more noticeable. Also I cant imagine how slow the a/s is on the mk I version of the 85L. The mark II was slow enough, and even manual focusing was a chorse as that focusing ring just kept going and going..

The Mark II is probably 50 percent faster, maybe more. And is a lot less prone to flare also. Much better lens. The Mark I lens is not usable, unless you're an expert and very lucky, for anything but studio or portraiture.

but yeah, it does have a loosey goosey focus ring. Smooth as butter though.
