Great News! Volume II

That's Right, it is time for Volume II. With the success of last years Coffee Table Book, the volunteers have pony'd up to do it again!

I know that there is a lot of talented photographers in this section so lets make a showing. Just because you are not a profressional Motorsports photorgrapher does not mean you do not have the opportunity to have a photograph in the section. The ONLY way you don't have the opportunity to have a photo in the section is not to submit a photo to the section. (now if that was not profound I don't know what was).

There is a projected minimum of 14 shots allocated for the Motorsports section. That is subject to change. How you ask? (I know you didn't but it is fun to think you did). Allocations may increase if submissions are great enough to make a large impact.

Something a bit different for Motorsports this year as well. There will be the Signature Shot (the shot voted for most by the memebers of the forum), and there will also be up to 2 other shots that will be smaller than the signature shot but larger than the regular shots and be on a page to itself that will be choose by the Hard Working Volunteers making this project happen. There is also another little supprise that I will keep to myself for the time being. It will add a little humor our pages.

There will be an announcement with the link to the submission page and I will also update this page with the link!

Last year the count gave our section a total of 9 images this year we will have 14. That includes the Signature Shot.

One submission per member per Gallery Share Competition (Share)
Submissions must be in sRGB @ maximum jpg format (no lower than 10 in PS)
EXACTLY 2574 on the longest side
Name the file what ever you want
No submissions of PUBLISHED images from Volume I

I also miss spoke in post #4, I spoke correctly in post #1 however. So let me correct myself.
Last year Motorsports had 9 photos. Based on last years numbers allocations for Motorsports are approximately 14. However that number is subject to change depending on submissions. Therefore the more submission we have from this section as a % of total submissions, the more photos we have as a % of photos in the book. Meaning 14 could increase or decrease. What I am getting at is:

As of today there are 3 M'sports images and 187 total images submitted for the book. It is still early in the submission process. The end is when "we" get the most submission.

Little input so far fron here...I know the licensing issues you guys face, but have a look through your archives and see if there is something motorsport-related you could submit.. There is such a wealth of talent here it would be a shame for it not to be reflected properly in the book.

Motorsports doesn't just have to be cars on a track ;)

Just an update 39 submissions thus far for M'sports. That is 4% of the submissions which is a 1% increase over last year. (the submission based on numbers are less but that is because we only allowed 1 per photog) There is still a few hours left to submit, if you have not yet. It would be great if we could get to 45-50 images in M'sports!

This was the subject of MUCH debate this time and we decided that, as much as we are against the principle of people voting for their own images... in the volume of votes we expect it will make little difference. Also, it's a right ROYAL PITA to check.

Basically it's down to your conscience... vote for the best, most appropriate, most intruiging, most stunning, most whatever criteria you apply... in each Share .. if you believe yours is one of them, vote for it. If not, well.... that's your issue to solve ;)
