Santa Pod Drag racing shots.

Hi

I took these a month or so ago and would really like some C&C :) this is my 2nd atempt at drag racing. I dont get to go as much as I like so its my yearly trip.

Good panning. When I went, I only had my kit lens so my shots were kind of sucky. I think you may have liked to try getting both cars in a few of the pics, maybe bit further out.

It is a shame that you do need a press pass to get on the other side right near the concrete barrier but generally on RWYB days, there are not a lot of people there so its not a problem taking some good pics.

I would like to make a trip soon before all the nasty weather starts. Do let me know if you want to go again, I would be happy to pop down.

What I found annoying at Santa Pod was that a biker blew something on the straight, they spent 1h 45min clearing everything up, everyone lost interest.

On the other hand, keeps the strip clean as.

I think these are excellent considering it's only your second attempt. The panning is really good.

I agree!! This was at Bug Jam and in rained badly for 2 days we had 30 minutes of racing before it started raining again late saturday afternoon!! by sunday we had had enough and left.

Very nice shots, and as said, excellent for a second go.
I see a definate lean towards VW's here, do you have one? Got pictures?

The panning is ok. Next time start at higher shutter speeds, get comfortable, and some sharp shots, then start working your way down. I would start at 1/250, or 1/200, then go down from there.

Excellent shots, better than my efforts, but it may at least have convinced me to upload some for critique. :D
