I would like to get a new faster DVD duallayer burner. My current which is a couple years old burns DVD DL at 4x speed but there must be faster burners now.
But there are so god damn many burners available and no easy way to find the fastest in all the supported formats.
So which FAST duallayer DVD burner can you recommend ?

Do you really want one that does RAM as well as +/-?
This link is for DVD DL writers

The next generation though is HDDVD and Blu-Ray. Here's the Blu-Ray stuff

I can recommend Lite-on as a decent purveyor of DVD writers.

Thanks but I can find that type of lists too. It is not easy to find the fastest in those.
And I am not interested in blue-ray og hd dvd yet. It is way too expensive still.

I'm right with you on blu-ray. When the units drop to $50 I might get one. Until then they're still pie in the sky.
The Samsung seems about the fastest of the DVD DL units http://computers.pricegrabber.com/dvd-rom-dvd-writers/m/47579142/search=dvd%20writer.
I don't know what's actually available in Denmark though.

Funny I just found that Samsung too. It seems to be the fastest. Also it is SATA interface.
12x (DVD-R DL) / 16x (DVD+R DL)
My dvds are +R DL so that burner is 4 times faster than my current which would be really welcome.

Just remember that the faster you burn a DVD the lower the resulting quality will be in terms of longevity. Slower burn rates are 'better' burn rates so really consider not using the fastest speed where longevity becomes a concern.

Ok and what translated to years would that be ?
Lets assume a dvd last 10 years when burned slow then how much is that reduced when burning fast ?
