EDIT: Here is the newest edit of the 2nd picture I originally posted.

The fires here are really making the sky give some great color. I had to tweak the saturation to make these pictures really pop. Hope it's not too overdone. I would love any comments.

On the first consider cropping the left third in order to fill the frame with your subject. It's just blank space that adds nothing to the story. And lighten it up a bit. The second doesn't do a lot for me. Try cropping right before the flare.

On the first I'm trying NOT to just center crop, I was trying to stick w/ the rule of thirds.

ON the second, I think it needs to be brighter but I was hoping to get some perspective since I was using my Sigma UWA and liked the pipe corral in the foreround.

On the first--if you crop out the space to the left, the wagon wheel on the lower left will hit one intersection and the one on the upper right will hit another. But, its your shot and call.
On the second, if you crop the right third the leading line of the fence will be even more prominant and striking. It almost gets lost in the vastness of the empty space.
Just my 2 cents. Your trying and you know what you're supposed to do. Keep it up.

Thanks for your comments. I agree about the second. I will recrop and adjust exposure a bit.
