Pekka, Andrei:
Hot on the heels of my telling Andrei that the D30 is not THE digital SLR that meets all of my needs...
I bought one.
That's right. The deal was too good to pass up. I purchased a D30 package from someone for a low price. The camera was 4 weeks old and had around 600 pictures taken with it. I paid $1,750 for the camera. He didn't like digital.
The package also included a 28-135 IS USM lens, 420ex, battery grip, 2 extra batteries, 2 160mb flash cards and some other items. It was almost too good to be true.
I'm sure that this won't be the last digital SLR I buy, but for the price it's something nice to play with. Please excuse my imperfections. :p

Enjoy your shooting and make the best out of an imperfect instrument (since when are there any perfect ones?) and all will be forgiven.

Congratulations!
Incredible deal you've got. Welcome to the club of us poor D30 owners!:)

It was interesting to look back at the oldest post to see a D30 cost $1750 8 years ago... and to think that people complain these days when you could get a 5D these days with a 70-200 f/4L for that price if you hunted for it. Makes me thankful.

I was thinking... "Damn, did this guy just get ripped or what..."
I always buy last generation stuff,,, the times are modern enough where 3 or 4 year old cameras are actually pretty decent.

This is true. I must have been so shocked about everything else that I did not even read that. Completely weird to look back.

Agreed. My 1Ds Mark II is about as good as it gets. And I like that I paid 1/5 of the price it was when it came out.

Holy crap I thought that this was a new post and I almost **** my pants thinking that the 30D is that much, considering I just got a 50d for under $1,200.
