what's a good time to take engagement/couple pictures?
good time to take of kids? what are some of your guys' suggestions...i heard two hours before sun sets is nice. You don't want the sun too bright. I've shot pics of kids at bright daylight and some of the kids liked being under the tree and there was lots of shadowing on their faces. How can i take a good picture in shade?

Use AV mode, and meter for the background/sky that's nice and bright. Then use a speedlite and let the flash equal the brightness. It should be powerful enough to negate any shadows under the tree.

Overcast days are my favorite. Less shadows, no squinting. Early or late in the day are also great times.
