I just got a new camera today replacing my Rebel and had to share.
Big thanks to Belmondo for hooking me up big time! Great guy!
Ok, I have to go shoot now.

8) Cool. You're gonna love the 10D. Tom's good people and I hope to meet him sometime soon as he traverses through my town to meet with relatives up north.

DieselGirl:
It was great meeting you today. You are now the only forum member who has actually met my cat, Dollie. Hopefully Jim (RFM) will get to meet her later this summer.
It was truly a pleasure.
Later,
Tom

Congratulations and good luck. You'll find the 10D a very satisfying camera, and the 17-40 should make a fine lens for it. :D

I am sure that you will find the 10D a nice camera, your choice of the 17-40mm is a good one and I am sure you will be very happy with the pair.
I have been knocked out with the combination of the two. Check out the following for some examples.

Enjoy

Yep, its a winning combination - I think you'll find that the wide end will be very useful for shooting in situations well beyond what you're intending to use it for.
Plus, its been blessed by Belmondo - that's got to count for something! :)

I've taken some of my best (and sometimes not so good) pictures with the 10D, 17-40 combo.

Sorry:
I'm fresh out of 'em. Laziferous got my first one, and Diesel Girl has the other one. Now I'm just stuck with a crummy old Mk II and a 1D for backup.
I guess life isn't all bad after all.

it's okay... guess I'll just have to wait until the 1DsMKII commes out :P

Hmm... let's hope that DieselGirl won't give up on photography in the near future :? ... otherwise Belmondo's blessing will surely drop in value.
Best regards,
Andy

Hey! Go easy on my boy Tom. If anything he's increased the value for me.
Haha!

Allow me to clarify:
Laziferous is just having a premature mid-life crisis brought on in part by a fleeting fascination with kayaks and an apparent need to shed blood while engaging in reckless behaviors.
Diesel Girl is more apt to cause a midlife crisis. (Thank goodness those years are behind me).
The fact is, Laz will get things sorted out and be back any day now. Diesel Girl already has things sorted out and is here now. I’m very comfortable with the knowledge that both my cameras have found new homes with bright, talented, young people.

This is getting funny.
OK Laziferous, care to elaborate on the "reckless behaviors" that shed blood? haha!
I've been known to cause a few things but midlife crisis isn't one of them (yet)
haha!

Dieselgirl,
Is the "Diesel" in your name the same as the Diesel for successful living? As in Renzo Rosso's Diesel............
Just wondering...........Conrats on the new equipment BTW.

cmN thanks, haha, thats funny with the comment in that thread. It's the opposite for me, clothing is what holds me back from buying stuff.
Take today for example, I go to Home Depot, it's near one of my fav boutiques. Well son of a...................... I go to buy drywall putty and end up getting a Zegna jacket and Diesel T shirt and spend enough to buy a whole alienbees kit, summuma! I probably have more clothes then most women........................gotta stop that.
But then again, I'm probably the only guy who likes to watch Fasion File and Fasion Television.Hmm I work out, love clothes and watch Fasion TV. I think I'm trying to tell myself something............... or maybe not lol

I went the same way .. 10D + 17-40L .. couldn't be happier :D .
I thought the slang diesel meant strong (as in ox).
It also means noisy, smelly, smokes alot .. but I know that's not the case here

Sorry for the confusion, I thought everyone knew what Diesel meant. I guess that's just a LA term perhaps? Anyways, that was weird to read my first post back. Thanks for the link. The 10D is AWESOME! Funny how quickly things change. Now, its the L lens or nothing for me! haha
